I visited Dr. Tereo for the first time in 2005.  I was apprehensive about going to a new Chiropractor; the one I was visiting at the time was fulfilling my needs adequately.  I conceded because the person referring me was getting good results with TMJ (temporomandibular joint) pain.

 Since that first visit, I find myself visiting Dr. Tereo regularly for maintenance.  His adjustments keep my TMJ symptoms to a minimum; I rarely experience flare-ups.  Additionally he keeps my back aligned.  The alignment of the spine is especially important because it affects every part of our body.  I find myself seeking Dr. Tereo's consult prior to visiting an MD for all ailments.  Seeing Dr. Tereo on a regular basis is like my diet and exercise, all part of my journey to good health.

Fifteen years ago, the joints in my fingers began to “stiffen” one by one.  My doctor sent me to both hand specialists and Rheumatologists, but no one was able to give me a diagnosis or provide anything relief, except to put me on Prednisone (which did nothing but make my face puffy). I eventually lost some mobility in both hands. In January when the same “stiffness” started in my left wrist, I started to worry.  Again my doctor sent me to hand specialists and Rheumatologists, and again I received no diagnosis or relief.  I began to lose strength in my hand, and by the time my friend Maria told me about Dr. Tereo, I had been taking Advil every four hours for about two weeks and was in constant pain.  I had to keep my hand raised, or it would begin to throb.  After my first visit, I was amazed that I could go for 12 hours without needing Advil. After my second visit I no longer needed Advil at all. I have regained much of the strength I lost, and I am even seeing some muscle tone in my fingers.  I appreciate the approach to health Dr. Tereo has and I am convinced that with chiropractic I will continue to make progress.   Thank you

I was parasailing in Hawaii eleven years ago when the parasail collapsed causing me to fall over 20 feet into the ocean.  This resulted in sharp back and leg pain.  I have been to many doctors and physical therapists over the years and never was able to get rid of the pain.  My pain was so bad I was afraid to do anything.  Even vacuuming my house caused the pain to become so sharp I had to stay in bed the next few days.  Having tried everything my doctor told me to do I decided to try a chiropractor.  A friend referred me to Dr. Tereo.  I was very nervous because my doctor told me a chiropractor may cripple me.  Dr. Tereo was very gentle.  He examined my back and explained what he found.  After a few treatments most of my pain was gone.  Today I am able to do everything I want to do without fearing pain.

I was carrying a large box of papers with my fingers curled around the edges. The box buckled and yanked on my hands. I heard a popping sound from my right hand and when I put the box down, my right hand was stuck in a C shaped position. I went to Kaiser because my hand wouldn't move. The doctor there looked at my hand and told me I needed surgery to get my hand moving again. I scheduled the surgery for the next week. Two days before the surgery I remembered meeting Dr. Tereo at the gym. I found his business card and gave him a call. I told him what happened and he said that he would look at it to see if there was anything he could do to help. Dr. Tereo examined my hand and found there was a bone out of place causing it to remain stuck in that C shape. He took my hand and pulled on it. There was a loud popping sound and when he let go of my hand I could move it again like it was brand new. I cancelled my surgery appointment with Kaiser when I got home. If I hadn't remembered to call Dr. Tereo, there is no telling what may have become of my hand.

About two years ago I developed an irregular heart beat. Being a Nurse for the past 30 years, I knew how important it is to find out what is causing the heart problem and have it corrected as soon as possible. I went through every examination from blood testing to an EKG. My doctor told me that all of the tests were negative and that there was nothing wrong with my heart. The irregular beat went on for about two years when I developed some neck pain. I went to see Dr. Tereo and after a couple of treatments my neck stopped hurting and I noticed that my heart beat was regular and I was feeling better than I had felt in a long time! Now I go to see him on a regular basis. I notice if I go too long between treatments, my heart begins to act up.

Several years ago a kid (driving another car) ran into my car while I was looking for a parking space. The left side of my neck was injured leaving me with pain and stiffness. I was no better off after several months of heat therapy. I tried physical therapy which did give me some relief. I quit going because I felt fine. The therapist told me that the pain would come back and sure enough, after one year, it came back especially after a stressful day or when feeling tired. I already had pain in other parts of my back and was convinced it was old age and would have to live with it. The pain became so bad I could not turn my head. It even hurt to roll over in bed. One day my daughter read me an article on what can happen if you don't take care of your back. It scared me and even though my husband said, Chiropractic doesn't work, I decided to go a couple of times to see if there was a chance for me to get some relief from the pain. Dr. Tereo examined me and determined there were some bones out of place in my spine. He adjusted me and what a nice surprise I got from that first visit. The pain immediately felt better and on the way home I could turn my head without pain.

Three months ago I made my first chiropractic appointment with Dr. Tereo. I was very apprehensive because I had heard some scary rumors in the past about chiropractic. I was having chronic neck pain and was experiencing panic attacks over the pain. I had to try something new. I had been through the Kaiser system for about five years with no progress, just frustration. My health became so bad that I was worried I would not be able to continue at my job. My quality of life was at a low point. Since I am 30 years old, this can be very depressing. Well, I am feeling much better and becoming more active again. I have Dr. Tereo to thank for that. Instead of chiropractic being my last choice when in pain, it will be my first choice now. I only wish it was years ago.

My son Cameron is three years old and had severe asthma for a while. He had such a hard time breathing that we had to give him bronchial inhaler treatments three times a day. During one of my visits with Dr. Tereo, I brought my son with me because my wife was working that day. We somehow got on the topic of my son's condition and Dr. Tereo explained how spinal misalignment could be one of the causes of asthma. Since Dr. Tereo helped me so much with my lower back pain that I trusted him with my son's health and had Cameron examined. Dr. Tereo found a couple of bones that were not moving how they should. He adjusted my boy that day and a few times since. Cameron is now to the point that he only needs a bronchial inhaler treatment about once a week. I told my wife that I am sure that it was the treatment with Dr. Tereo that got Cameron better.

One day I went to get Chinese food for lunch. The restaurant was busy so I had to park a few stores down. While walking on the sidewalk to the restaurant I saw a display on carpal tunnel syndrome. At that point in time I had been having pain, tingling and numbness into my arms and hands for several years and my right hand shook all the time so I decided to stop and read it. While I was reading, Dr. Tereo came out to where I was standing and we talked about my condition. What he said made sense, and I thanked him, got my food and went back to work. Over the next few days I thought over what Dr. Tereo and I talked about because my hands were really bothering me. I used to play guitar professionally and I love to bass fish on the weekends. Both of these activities caused my hands to hurt more so I stopped playing guitar and limited my fishing trips to avoid pain. Anyway, I called and made an appointment to see him. After a few months of treatment, most of the pain went away. I have some shaking in my hands but I am able to play the guitar again and go fishing as often as I am able. Thanks again Doc!
